Sudbury Theatre Centre Sends Fund to Haiti

 3/4/2010
On January 23, when the audience at Celebrities do Sudbury Satire at the Sudbury Theatre Centre learned that the funds raised from the 50/50 draw that night would be sent to Haiti, they were very generous, indeed.

On that audience’s behalf, the Sudbury Theatre Centre recently contributed a cheque for $400 to Mission of T.E.A.R.S. to be sent directly to Haiti.

Mission of T.E.A.R.S. is a registered charity whose Operation Share provides short term workers, medical teams, care-givers and work groups, as well as securing medicines, food, clothing and building materials for various orphanages all over the world.  They are involved directly with orphanages in Haiti, especially providing medicines for orphans as well as seeking placement, where appropriate, with Canadian families. They work on the premise that “if we cannot being a child into a home setting, we will bring a home setting to that child.”

The Sudbury Theatre Centre thanks the audience of Celebrities do Sudbury Satire for their generosity in giving to the Haiti earthquake relief fund. Thank you audience!  Thank you celebrity performers!
