Will Gillespie's Old World Romance in Sudbury
Celebrate the long weekend with some Old World Romance al fresco....

On Sunday, August 1st Will Gillespie's Old World Romance will be coming to Sudbury to play three very different shows.

First, if it's a sunny day, a matinee at the Laughing Buddha on the patio. 3-5pm, pay-what-you-can. This is a great band to see al fresco.

Then an evening concert at the Gazebo in Bell Park. Free for the whole family. 7pm

Finally a night time show at the Townehouse tavern. Age of majority required. 10pm, $5.00 also playing as the Nightlife, their indie garage-rock alter ego.

OLD WORLD ROMANCE BIO:
Part classical string quartet, part New Orleans Dixieland/Ragtime, part rock band, part lonesome country, part gypsy jazz band. Like looking at the world from a Venetian gondola in the 20's. We're in the heartbreaking business and we're working overtime. Made up of Will Gillespie on guitar and piano, Josh Turnbull on percussion and trumpet, Anna Atkinson on violin and accordion and Agnes Malkinson on cello.

Will Gillespie is a very genuine writer and performer. What you see and hear onstage is a candid, off-the cuff sometimes clever sometimes charming sometimes touching "Nice Guy" persona that is uniquely his own. There's something for everybody at a Will Gillespie show. Some enjoy his varied chord voicings and finger-picking techniques, while others like the natural, conversational vocal delivery or concise, crafted lyrics. Some like the occasional bad joke and self-deprecating humour in the banter. The whole performance seems unforced and neither forces itself upon you. More inviting and disarming. Take that invitation and be thoroughly entertained.
